In the stillness of the evening
With the crispness of summers ends
I think of your endless peace
Your quiet and unending strength
The same strength that taught the oak how to hold its branches high
The strength the presses the moon into its place
And quietly brushes the clouds back from its glow
You have walked through every valley
You have conquered every mountain
There is no task too big
There is no task too small
I hear you gently saying that I am your beloved
That it could all be done a thousand times again
Just to be with me again
I run into your presence
I run into your arms
I run to rest
The rest I only find in you
The peace I only find in you
So I sit.
In the stillness of the evening
In the crispness of the summer’s end
Looking at what autumn may bring
And I think
I think on your endless peace.
